Islands
I’m walking down this road alone
Can’t see the people that are here anymore
And on this island of laws for myself
the shoreline is closing in on no one but me
And the court rules
but there’s no court
and facts tell
but there’s no facts when our views keep changing
the years are painting
and words are the paint
There’s a reason I hate zoos and I don’t get the visitors
Come back soon the poster says
”the wild sounds will stay in your head”
Wildness
Why are they caged then?
Inside a labelled life the colour of the label
is never bright enough
But in the bag there’s a tag
who designs best?
Surely you can?
And if you can
the court rules but there’s no court
And roads wind
but there’s no roads here and no traffic lights
Just the light of the sky to read
the lessons not dictated but freed
Years go by
but time has no time,
so why would you pay your fines?
In my sleep I swam away from them
the paper trays
Islands
Why are they closed in?
On islands
you can begin
